Cleaning Gutters
We suggest inspecting your home from the top down beginning with your gutters. As the winter months keep us indoors debris from surrounding trees can accumulate in your gutters and spouts. Which, in turn, can become clogged causing bigger issues.
With the warmer months quickly approaching they bring with them heavy rain throughout our region. Thus, it pays to do a little bit of maintenance earlier in the spring than paying for water damage later in the year.
Inspect the Outside of Your Home
Before you begin an inspection of the logs outside of your home be sure to have a few tools in hand. We suggest carrying some painter’s tape and a camera of some kind.
As you visibly look for any areas that might concern you or require some routine maintenance place painter’s tape near them as a visible marker. With a camera, the one on your cell phone should suffice, take a picture for documentation.
When you are doing your walk thru look for cracks, water damage, missing or loose shingles, flashing that could be loose on your chimney, and anything else that you may question.
If you do not feel you can repair any damage or are unsure about what you have found do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to assist you with all your log home maintenance care.
